Frequently Asked Questions

We know new Seattle flooring is an important investment. That’s why we want to make sure you feel prepared and knowledgeable about our process and flooring options.

If you are looking for a solution that is environmentally friendly and is also friendly on your pockets, Luxury Vinyl Plank is your best option! Since luxury vinyl planks are a stone composite they will never need to be refinished, will always be waterproof, and you’ll have peace of mind that these floors will last a long time!

  • Luxury vinyl is great for active families and pets. Its low requirement for maintenance means cleaning is a breeze for any of life’s little accidents!

  • The protective wear layer is designed to prevent it from being scratched, dented or gouged, unlike laminate or hardwood.

  • Laminate and Luxury Vinyl flooring have definitely come a long way since they came to be back in the 1970s. Both can have the appearance of wood, but with the modern manufacturing process of luxury vinyl they not only look but feel like real wood!

  • Even though laminate has come a long way since being created it is still vulnerable to moisture damage while luxury vinyl flooring is 100% waterproof.

  • Another major difference with their manufacturing processes is that Laminate is made with a pressed board core with a photographed paper finish making it susceptible to peeling and damage. However, Luxury Vinyl flooring has been created to be completely waterproof and durable under the heaviest traffic

  • Hardwood is a great option if you don’t have a very active household with pets or children and you’re looking for more of a traditional or timeless look for your home. Luxury vinyl is great for active households with pets and children, and with the ability to create any design it’s easy to find a look that fits into your style!

  • Hardwood is strongly affected by moisture and humidity making it warp, bubble and peel unlike luxury vinyl which is completely waterproof.

  • When it comes down to it, both options are great if you’re looking for an eco-friendly solution. However the cost is something to consider, Hardwood is roughly 2-3 times more expensive than vinyl and it has to be refinished to maintain it and that alone is messy and expensive.

Tile is often made of terracotta or porcelain making it very porous, brittle and easily damaged. The design of luxury vinyl plank allows it to be much more durable then a lot of other options. The rigid core design makes it impervious to scuffs, scratches and dents!

  • Vinyl options are going to be the easiest material to clean, since when properly installed they are completely waterproof you can virtually use any cleaner on them! (though we recommend using a floor specific cleaner)

  • Laminate and hardwood need to be cleaned using very mild solutions while making sure you aren’t over saturating the material causing bubbling and peeling of the floors.
